Next technology is just a scratch: Scratch Input

There are several technologies running around us whom we have digested well in our daily life but there is something again which we never seen till now. It gives you a “Gift” with something that you never think of. Yes! It’s nothing but your one scratch on the surface (anything). With which you can control your calls in your mobile phones without touching your phone, i.e. simply amazing. You can say that it could be done also with Bluetooth device but friends it is completely different. Just with the help of a scratch on any surface you can control your calls. Provided your phone should be connected with the computer.

There’s sensor which looks like just a stethoscope head which is the key player here plays with all the input balls. This is built based on acoustic based input technique which that relies on the unique sound produced when we scratch on any surfaces. The word acoustic is- a sound wave that is defined by science, means when we produce any kind of sound either by tapping or by scratching or by any means that signal or that wave is a part definition of acoustic. This sensor catches the signal that comes from tapping or scratching any surface (wooden table, fabric, wall paint etc.) with finger nails. This sensor is easily coupled with those surfaces and programmed with some gestures of fingers that are compiled to some pre configured commands, which results what was programmed previously. Just like microprocessor nothing else.

Now if you drag your finger, that sensor can sense it and produce some wave which first caught by a computer and that gives the command to silent a mobile, to talk with someone, to make the phone in speaker. Steps are somewhat like this:

1. Drag finger across the surface in any gesture
2. Which caught at a distance by the sensor(connected with mobile phone, which is connected with the computer also)
3. Sensor is connected to the computer
4. Computer caught the wave and monitor the signal
5. Pre defined commands executes according to the gesture of the finger drag)

So this is amazing without a touch screen technology that comes up recently in public’s hand. This sensor is built very small which can be placed in a mobile device also. The sensor turned into a large, unpowered and ad hoc finger input surfaces. It is concluded that users can perform six different kinds of scratch input gestures at about 90% accuracy with less than a five minutes of training and upon variety of surfaces. The sensor even senses a scratch at about a distance from 8 meter where the sensor is placed. The sound will be much clear as the scratch is done closer to the sensor. So even if you are sitting in a distance but the surface is same means, long wooden table, wall paint, fabric, etc. Then definitely you will be doing the same what you could do in near. But it can’t catch the signal if the sensor and the scratch input both are placed in different surface. It means surface matters the signal.

Who knows that this Scratch Input Technology becomes vaster? The study is now concluded, not the research. Just imagine what it could be afterwards, you can place your mobile phone in your desk and just with some small scratch input gestures you could do all the operations what is today done by holding the device and either by touching the screen or by tapping the buttons. In future days there is a plan to incorporate this technology in Windows Mobile Phones. Now, days are coming with such playful, funny and amazing devices that will need just a move in the air, nothing else.

This fabulous concept or you can say the marriage of simplicity and technology is developed by a person whose name I have heard just some days before, he is another rising sun in the battle field of techno stuffs. He is CHRIS HARRISON, researching in Carnegie Mellon University in 3rd year. He is also a Microsoft research Ph.D. so just think why Microsoft should worry about a 1% downfall in market shares ($219.58 billion). Security of Apple: Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard unsafe but now Mac OS X 10.6.3 Snow Leopard safe

The Mac OS X is an open source operating system. i.e. its a free software version that comes under Apple Inc. Apple Mac book are the most demanded notebook in this market. Everybody has a fascination “if I would be having a Mac book I can play with it” this is the new generation wants-PLAY in a digital way. But they must be aware about the data and secret files they have in their machine, which they feel is important. Now as the Mac OS X is an open source OS that means it doesn’t get attacked with the viruses. For a small information I want to let my blog reader knows that Mac OS X is the successor of Mac OS 9, which is build on UNIX based operating system and graphical interfaces is developed, marketed, and sold by Apple Inc. Mac Os name came from Macintosh Computer Systems. Mac Os becomes the primary OS of Apple in 1984. The “X” represents that it is a Uni”X” based graphical operating System. As open source operating systems like red hat, ubuntu, fedora, mandriva, knoppix etc.these OS has a full security to the user that’s why we normally don’t install any kind of antivirus, antispyware or antimalware softwares. Because we know that the architecture is totally different from windows versions. Now we have the idea that Mac OS definitely prevent viruses, worms, malwares, spywares, phishing prohibited and definitely makes a wall which can’t be broken with any kind of backdoor planning.
In that case Mac users know that they are safe. But hey there’s something that many of you don’t know is that Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard version has a loophole in the security portion. I want to make them know that malwares can’t be detected by this Leopard version. So when Mac Os X comes in the market it becomes clear within some days that as Apple does many improvements in graphics, performance, transition with the Intel based architecture also it silently adds up a malware update in its version in the “XProtect.plist” file which shows us below the fact.

After that we compare the both version of Mac OS X 10.6.3 snow leopard and the MAC OS X Leopard version and we found that there was no update of malware security in (MAC OS X Leopard) this version, there was a loophole in the architecture of security portion, means when we were known that we are safe but at that time we aren't. There was a detection of a Trojan named "OSX/Pinheard-B," that has been around for several months, which lets attackers use infected computers to send the spam, take screenshots, access files, and pretty much take control of the computer. That’s why MAC OS X 10.5 version users now know about it and take some steps. But in this official release Apple didn’t tell us about the security update, it silently does it. So, those people who are the users of Mac OS X please install a antimalware software ( no antivirus, antispyware) in your machine and start surfing anywhere without worrying about you data and your security.....................................
But Mac OS X 10.6.3 snow Leopard version supports other security defences well like “sandboxing” using it architectural defense, it always updates the security, it allows you time to time to open a file just like KASPERSKY INTERNET SECURITY but for once only for one file. If you do open that file once then that file counted as a trusted file from then. All thing is done in the UNIX way.
My security advice to you people is that

Whatever you download just scan once atleast.
After performing all operation in a day perform cleaning at least once.
Do install anti-malware software in your Mac Book
Try to download your data from a licensed and trusted site.

A new rising face of open source Operating System : Ubuntu (10.10) and Ubuntu Lucid Lynx Version

Ubuntu , an open source OS in the kingdom of free linux distribution software services which is now a days improving a lot in a series by series with its indomitable performance in the desktop as well as in the server editions also. Ubuntu is a fork of the Debian projects code base. The original aim of Ubuntu is to release a new version with in a span of six months which they kept in an unspeakable way. The first release of Ubuntu was in 20th October, 2004 sponsored by Canonical ltd. And licensed by General Public License (GNU GPL) The Ubuntu versions use Debian’s unstable software packages and they have to rebuild the whole package from the source code to get the usable code for Ubuntu.

Ubuntu is the first and only one which I see in my computer career best and better than the best one . There are other OS also of Linux distribution like: Fedora (12),Knoppix, Centos OS, Mandriva, openSUSE ,free BSD, Red Hat OS and many more. But within them Ubuntu is faster, less time consumer and also light weight OS. Ubuntu latest versions I know about so in those versions I want to let you know that 8.10 version was good for beginners who are new to the open source OS. Fedora in that case is not a bad option but if one wants configure Fedora for connecting network then one must re think about that piece. If one goes into the deep of Open Source Os then Fedora 5 is the best one for that. Anyway way back to Ubuntu 8.10, which has got a very good and simple configuration option for users? But my advice to those who uses Ubuntu 8.10,don’t update your OS to Ubuntu 9.10 or higher, it gets you nothing but the only a ambiguous Kernel side by side that is 1.Kernel version 2.6.27 and kernel Version 2.6.29.(whose compressed version is used in Android OS).
Any way apart from that Ubuntu 8.10h has got a very bad version of media Player which is not able to play any kind of movie or Songs which has a format of .mp3 or.avi. So you need to do all that you have to download a new media player version of Pulse Media Player.

After that version as a promise Ubuntu adds a new title to its title bar i.e. ubuntu 9.04 and within six months Ubuntu 9.10 which was released on 23rd April, 2009 and 29th October, 2009 respectively. Now in these version it updates nothing special but the loading page or in easy word you can say it as GUI is a bit impressive and from that time it not openly but somewhere people liked it and often I found many users of Ubuntu 9.04 and9.10 versions. and it starts a not a so called competition but something like that has began between windows xp and Ubuntu 9.10.Although they are just poles apart still they make sense out of this release.

Now the war starts with today’s Microsoft dominated domains and computers. People are getting attracted as Ubuntu kept its punctuality according to time. And keeping this pace Ubuntu released that version which may be we people looking for i.e. Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid Lynx and Ubuntu 10.10.with this amazing and breathtaking release of the most wanted services that we want to get in an OS just like the Microsoft Giant’s way. Now Ubuntu Community has almost 60,000 users and 70,000 users in Ubuntuforum.com, 65,000 users in ubuntugeek.com and all is increasing worldwide. The developers and the users also. It has a Splendid GUI (Graphic User Interface) which is first noticed by a user when it starts installing this OS. I didn’t try it yet but I have ordered a CD of Lucid Lynx.

Ubuntu 10.10 is almost similar with the Ubuntu 10.04.

I have an advice as I have tried Ubuntu versions is that go for it order a free CD or download it and just take a look what is absent and compare with windows. What extra thing we need and do some help yourself by reaching to the open source community and make them know about the absent features. Try it; believe it won’t make you unhappy at the end of one digital day.

Android is the open source software for mobile phones it is led by Google (the famous giant search engine). Android is the new operating system that is in the market of symbian OS in the most popular Nokia devices. Android supports no central point failure. Android makes its entry on 5th November; 2007.Android includes middleware architecture and key applications and uses the modified version of Linux Kernel. Android first started with the name Android Inc. But it later purchased by Google and lately by Open Handset Alliance .It consists of pure java programming language and Google-developed libraries.

Android comes with very simple operating system that presumes with some basic operation that is very much needed for a mobile device .Its customizable means just like our own Linux open source that can edited by any company and they have the right to make powerful phones, that’s why it takes the advantage of being open to all. In the previous days it was not so much famous but as time goes by it becomes so good and easy to access for the developers, meaning its growth is just very much significant.







This is the logo of Android which is the new face of mobile operating system in the old and long lasting OS, Symbian. Many companies like SAMSUNG, HTC, MOTOROLA are depending on Android as its very humbly accepted by users. When you are applying any changes to your phone he OS never blinks for a moment so you are getting a constant view of your handset.

To me Android is going to be huge as because people are getting bored with the traditional display of Nokia devices that the same old wallpaper, theme customizations , some shortcuts you can get on the home screen from the very old concept they have applied in their Nokia N series that is still exists on their touch screen phones also. In that case Android being an open source will increase its market so soon and will make hype in the general public who normally thinks now a day when they want to buy a phone of Nokia and Samsung with the so called, old and fold OS.

Android market also offers applications to any phone running Android, much in the same vein as the i-Phone App store. The applications range from social games to business-oriented options and this range will continue to increase in the coming months. The success of Android market depends on how many phones is being shipped with this OS and as it will be shipped, it will be bought and developers will look into it and being attracted to it.
Very recently Android OS contained Smartphone got a second position among all Smartphone OS sold in U.S in the first quarter of 2010.Blackberry OS and i-OS ranked first and third respectively.

HTC and Samsung and Motorola which is in the list very recently are getting the Android OS in their handsets. That makes it look just amazing. So, my advice to those buyers who are the tech savvy and want to taste the new technology in their palm just go for Android phones. I didn’t use it till now as recently I have bought Nokia 5233which gives you very normal features which is available in a normal bar phone also the difference is the only touch. But my plan is to go for Android phone next year. So, just wait for some time to get more options in market for Smartphone.................Cheers to all for Android.......   

This news is known by everybody. But what is not noticed is that Microsoft is such a huge giant in its software market which can’t be defeated so early.

I still don’t know why people don’t use live profile.It gives you more than what you want.Microsot Visual Studio 2010 gives you another milestone which comprises of whatever line of code you need to write to get you own project and professional stuffs.
Then it gives us the famous Xbox360 the ultimate gaming console which gives you the control of getting every game in the ultimate resolution with the help of DirectX 9.0,which is must gor playing a game.Who else can give this kind of so many techno stuff under one roof.
And last but not the least is that Microsoft gives first most popular Dial Up Connections in USA.Which is still going on in many users home.In todays life you can also get that service online jst with some few clicks...........................Microsoft has more things that will be discussed later..........

Lets compare the OS. It was almost dead at the decade of 90’s.But it got life back and start breathing holding the hand of the new innovative and most off the track person who is believed to be a God of technology none other than Steve Jobs.With a magnificent entry he makes it a complete with a bite. Apple makes it run into the race of being no. 1 company in Technological competition.
Apple has got few Stuffs but what is important about Apple is it released the most welcome able but not so much popular like Windows is Mac OS.Mac OS is that one which gives you many things as like Windows but it has got the first medal i.e. GUI of Mac is just splendid .Its incomparable, Windows gets first obstacle here though its working on this so that it released the version of Vista which was so heavy OS that slows down a machine runs on 1GB RAM.Anyway,then they came with Windows 7 which is just like windows Vista but its got the lightness and even if a machine runs on Pentium IV 7 runs just fantastic.

Now Come to the point of price pinch.Now Windows got the market once again with its amazing price list.Windows 7 you can get at the amount of just only 5,500/-. Windows maintaining its simplicity through its performance and processes.In the war of OPERATING SYSTEM windows wins.

Apple sees very far that’s why Apple suddenly running over the Microsoft. i-Pad is really a good one but with several disadvantages like1. No extra hardware is supported, 2. No flash supported by Adobe, 3. It consists only 64 GB highest Hard Disk memories,
4. Cost is very high in accordance to its products service, 5. Its stand by mode is only 4 Hrs, 6. No port of USB.
i-Phone makes a lot of difference in and outside market.Firstly it was not so much huge but as time goes by it really makes a difference when it comes out with a 4G network support.i-Phone 3Gs released last of 2007.Its got a vey huge opening when it comes with 4G.It has 2000 applications in its store.Its capacitive touch screen technology gives you an amazing experience of using your own fingertips.
i-Pod gives us four new, versatile products which is just amazed us but to me i-Pod is such a product which doesn’t fulfil who loves taking pictures.........Classic, Nano and Shuffle gives the market a splendid but utmost music bajnas...... It owns the music lovers a lot as there are lot of music lovers in the streets.....
i-Tunes has a lot of music in its store,which is really outstanding and the software updates simply simple........
Apple routers, monitors, keyboard are not available in market of India. So we never heard of this items except in internet. Apple has so many shortcomings of marketing its product in right place.In that field Microsoft makes a huge success by reaching the grass root level of Buying a computer which definitely runs Windows OS.
MacBook gives a huge gain in the share market of Apple.
So in short I wanna tell that if we compare all these softwares and hardwares and products line up in a row then I must say that Microsoft ‘s place can never be replaced by anyone.I think Microsoft never be defeated by anyone never by Apple Inc.

9.5 out 10 computers will be in hand of Microsoft unless and until MAC cuts down its price........
